Blind item

Which just-departed magazine editor, who is moving ino PR for a luxury goods firm, thanked her former boss to the point of spine-chilling embarrassment to her colleagues, finishing up with "I love Ian so much". Whoever knew life at Al Wahibi Building in Garhoud was so touchy feely?

watch out, folks. the last time this fair organ was slagged, i seem to remember threats at moonlighting freelancers leading to the posting's disappearance!

Well, her comment made me smile as he reduced her to tears on many occasions!

Is anyone going to say who it was?

Well, if you are not going to have the balls to name names, there's really no point of posting like this. The whole point of this ultra-anonymous blog is for people to say it without having to think about it.. now of course, if such a leak can be linked directly to you, then perhaps posting about it shouldn't be an option.

I was not going to write anything here but feel it necessary to point out these blogs are a good thing - but only when used in the correct manner. Although slightly amused about the posts concerning my moustache I think it may have all got a bit silly. Good luck to you all and please have a look at my column this week. It is a savage, brutal attack on the inadequacies of the UAE Labour Law. Ciao. EC.

Fine, fine. The editor in question is undoubtedly the lovely Ruth Bradley. It is no secret that she left to go into some form of luxury PR. So, to anonymous @ Mar 24, 17:34: Can you refer back to her comment on this blog, while also illuminating us all on how he (and, for the record, who he?) reduced her to tears. While this may be detail unbecoming even of this blog, perhaps it will go some way to explaining how an uber-anonymous blog such as DMO still gets censored. PS. Save the beach.

It's a nice blog DMO but you have some disgruntled hacks who cannot get over EC and don't add anything substantial to the comments/discussions.

You’re right MD – this EC business is becoming beyond a joke. Sure, he sports a superlative, voluptuous, billowing crown of hirsute magnificence, but what about the real issues here, the real reason this blog exists, and the reason we all log in everyday.

Come on Dubai Media Observer bloggers; let’s get to the real matter at hand here.

Hasn’t Daniel Hicks got a lovely baldy head? Man that chrome dome’s great.

To love Hick’s head is to love life.

The reference to the balding journalist, Daniel Hicks, caused me to trawl the memory banks for an anecdote concerning an erstwhile senior journalist on a Bahrain-based daily newspaper. He, too, lacks hair - although is somewhat taller - and is currently in the employ of Mr Fairservice.

Rumours are that he distinguished himself by urging staff to find a lighter angle to the death of an equestrian's prized mount, which had recently been purchased for BD30,000 (AED300,000). Not everyone saw the lighter side of the death of the horse, including the owner and those who supplied the feed, who later considered litigation. Can anyone shed further light on this?

God, I hope not.

Dear Anonymous, please correct yourself. I am not balding. I am bald.
